A Brief History of Axe Throwing

Axes have an interesting history and are some of the oldest tools and weapons known to man. Amazingly, they date all the way back to the stone age. Over thousands of years axes have been adapted and updated to give us what we now know as the modern axe.

It is believed that the first axe throwing competitions were held by frontiersmen in North America. Fast-forward to modern day and Axe throwing is more popular than ever. In 2016 the National Axe Throwing Federation was established with the aim to create a standard rule system and enable competition amongst players. Chuck Town Axe Throwing is excited to bring this new activity to the Charleston area. Whether you’re a seasoned axe thrower or looking to try for the first time, you’ve come to the right place.
